What Joel Spolsky wrote on http://www.avc.com/a_vc/2012/02/the-management-team-guest-post-from-joel-spolsky.html I think is applicable to all company. The point that needed to be paid attention is

1. Hire Smart People.
2. Give the smart people that you hire real authority.
3. Management is there to help smart people do their job, not preventing them from doing it.
4. You’re not Steve Jobs, so stop thinking and micromanaging like him.
5. Once again, you’re not Steve Jobs, stop wearing those black turtleneck sweater and New Balance snickers.
